As always, Hawai\u02bbi Volcanoes National Park is a unique, inspiring place to visit on the Big Island. But this year in brings some special and fascinating things.<\/p>\n
One thing that makes this year one of a kind, is that it marks the 100 year anniversary of the park. Founded on August 1, 1916, Hawai\u02bbi Volcanoes National Park\u00a0celebrates 100 years<\/a>\u00a0this year! Through December 31, 2016, the park will be celebrating its 100 year anniversary! While Kilauea is always active, it is not every month or even every year that a surface flow can be watched.
